Typical Class Format
(60 minute class)
Typically, my classes involve a short warm up followed by some Sun Salutations (short flowing sequences done in repetition on both sides of the body). Salutations are the traditional way to start a class and get the entire body moving and generating heat. Moving at a strong pace, these can also raise the heart rate, increasing fitness levels.
The next 40 minutes involve a flowing sequence of different standing and seated postures, always moving in rhythm with the breath. Gently or more dynamically depending on experience and health and fitness of each student.
The last few minutes of sessions are aimed at allowing the body to be still and for the mind to begin to declutter – the ultimate aim of Yoga!
